Hello all! My word, it’s halfway through September. An older gentleman today told me that he was ‘quite bewildered’ about where the time has vanished to, and I had to agree.
I intended to post more of my ArtFight pieces back in August, but one week bled into another… still, better late than never, aye? So here are a few more artworks that I’ve drawn of other people’s story characters.

I haven’t posted since July, which is rather shoddy of me, but I’ve been discouraged about my art and feeling demoralised by my general lack of enthusiasm for creative endeavours lately. I’m quite tired out and more than ready for the Christmas holidays, though December is months away…!
Nonetheless, I’ve been plodding away at a few things… an art commission, another Speedlang challenge, my Russian lessons, and a short story for an anthology competition by Inkwells & Anvils (more details about that here). Inkwells & Anvils is a great community with a fun Discord group, very dedicated to their craft. It’s good to hang out in the Discord with likeminded folks! If the short story doesn’t make it into the anthology, I’ll likely post it here.
I’ve also been delving into The Interior Castle by St Teresa of Avila, with guided talks by our local bishop — I highly recommend the book, the Kieran Kavanaugh translation is considered to be the best and most accurate. It is a fantastic guide to the spiritual journey.
‘Do not be downcast if you have not responded immediately to Our Lord’s voice, for His Majesty is willing to wait for us many a day and even many a year, especially when He sees perseverance and good desires in our hearts. Perseverance is the first essential.’
~ Quote from The Interior Castle ~
That’s all the news I have, for now, so I’ll sign off and wish you all a joyful September.
xx The Inky Baroness
Beautiful drawings!
I hope autumn will bring you some joy. It's not quite Christmas, but it's lovely in its own way.
I've listened to the audio book of The Interior Castle, but I'd like to read it off the page one day. Thank you for the recommendation. A good translation can make all the difference.

Love this, wow!
(and I love your art too -- maybe we can arrange a trade sometime!)
