Truly beautiful work, Jess! The detail couldn't be lovelier. It's obvious this is a labor of love.

I enjoyed seeing your tracery research. Sometimes, the research is half the fun. :)

Your short story sounds very intriguing, and I look forward to reading it.

It means a lot to hear you say it, Jennifer. And I agree - the research is a part of the project I absolutely relish in!

Simply amazing Jess and I am so happy to hear you are trying to pursue art further as you truely have a gift! I myself was not given artistic talent, but I think the live streams are a great idea - I would love to see more of the BTS of your creative process!

Wow, that's fantastic! I'm always shocked by the quality of your fore-edge paintings. When you started some of the previous ones, I thought they would be simple paintings, but you went for a degree of detail I didn't expect when it came to color choice, historical detail, and tailoring the painting to the product. Your fore-edge paintings are incredibly detailed and well-thought out. You not only keep the vanishing medium alive (and show the process in an easy-to-understand way) but ensure that it is presented at a high quality from research to final product.

A grant application to study in the U.K., wow! That's so exciting (and also sounds like a big step/change). I hope this peer feedback helps.

Thank you so much for the feedback RosTy! (As an aside, I enjoy your articles and am always intrigued by the titles that pop up in my inbox from your 'stack. Going to read the Thunderbolts one this weekend when I get time.)

Fingers crossed! It would be a dream come true. Thanks for providing your kind words, which I can definitely use to strengthen the application. :)

These are always so fascinating. You put so much work into these—research especially—and it shows. In terms of peer feedback:

Among iPhones, computers and other screens that continue to dominate our life, I really appreciate these paintings. Finding traditional craftwork that's not only preserved but brought to life with new work is really important to me. It makes me look for fore-edge paintings in bookstores, and appreciate the skill and attention that goes into them.

Thank you James for the thoughtful peer feedback, it will certainly bolster my grant. It's heartwarming to hear that the effort I put into these comes across even in photos.

(One-hundred-percent agree with you on traditional craftwork as well. And that includes your photography!)
